As we move closer to Christmas, things on the WSU athletic front get quieter and quieter. However, there was a nice recap of Coach Kyle Smith's presser by Jamey Vinnick that's worthy of your time. Coach Smith offered some insight which led to Wazzu losing at the buzzer to South Dakota State. Okay, it might be rubbing salt in an open wound to revisit the third loss of this season. If you like to look forward, Smith's thoughts will give you something to consider as opponents start getting tougher in Pac-12 play. Here's your link:

It's official. Max Borghi is declaring entry into the NFL draft. Borghi still has one year of eligibility left, but what does he have to prove? The Utah native has placed his name prominently in the WSU record book. Were it not for a Covid shortened season, he helped the Cougs earn a trip to a post-season bowl all but one year he was on the roster. His work ethic and leadership blossomed while in Pullman. It's time for Cougar Nation to collectively tip their hat to a guy who made a positive impact in numerous ways.

Borislava "Bobbie Buckets" Hristova finished a stellar career at Wazzu and moved on to the WNBA. While in Pullman, it was a common occurrence for her to be tapped for Pac-12 Player of the Week. That appears to be a legacy carried forward by Charlisse Leger-Walker, who earned her first recognition from the Conference of Champions. Leger-Walker brought the Cougs from behind to defeat both Gonzaga and Boise State last week. She averaged 18.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 steals, and 2.5 assists in the process.
Go Cougs!!!
